About The Author: Robert Laurence Binyon (1869–1943) was an English poet, dramatist, and art scholar. Born in Lancaster, England, he studied at St Paul’s School and Trinity College, Oxford, winning the Newdigate Prize for poetry in 1891. Binyon worked at the British Museum from 1893 to 1933, contributing significantly to art scholarship. He married historian Cicely Margaret Powell in 1904 and had three daughters, including artist Nicolete Gray. Binyon’s famous poem "For the Fallen" became iconic during World War I. He also volunteered as a hospital orderly, writing For Dauntless France about his wartime experiences. He authored many books on art throughout his life and Manmohan Ghose (1869–1924) was an Indian poet, one of the first to write in English. Educated in both England and India, he was part of a literary circle including Laurence Binyon. His work appeared in Primavera: Poems by Four Authors (1890). After returning to India, Ghose held teaching positions. His posthumous collection, Songs of Love and Death, reflects a blend of Indian themes and English literary tradition.
